These shots were taken shortly after the application of the second roof. Only a few additional things have been done, including the filling/sanding/painting of the walls. I'm painting the beams and window trim a rich, dark brown (you'll see some sample areas as you look around at the pics, especially by the front door and dining room window). I also need to get the stains for the new ceiling sections to match the existing. I've been having a problem matching the patina of the original pine so I'm taking my time.
The clearstory windows on the Guest Room and Office haven't been updated to gas-filled, so that's my next interior project. My intent is to change the front doors back to the original - solid french doors with a single side-light behind the planter. There are also some windows that have failed seals for the gas - I'm looking into replacing those as well. Next I'll be looking for new fixtures for the dining and kitchen. I've bought new halogen tracks for the existing track lights (that wash the walls). Once the painting is done, I'll try to get some artwork back up on the walls - they look rather barren right now. |
