6380 Voyage to Galaxy III Set

To consider 6356 Orbitor with Or as being rare is an understatement, as it appears to have never been produced. Placing the Voyage to Galaxy III set in the same category, it should be considered as ultra-rare and never produced! The only mention of this playset is in the same 1970 Mattel Catalog. Same deal as 6356 Orbitor with Or only accompanied by a Star Seeker and Matt on Cat Trac Card. Scans are from the 1970 Catalog.

The box appears to have been done in mock-up only. A few sample boxes may exist, as the toy appears to have been shown at the 1970 Toy Fair. Intended box size was 12" by 12" by 21 5/8"

John's Notes:
I'm not sure what Mattel was thinking of this one. In any case I doubt if this combo-set even got close to production, as I've never even seen mock-ups of the box art. It would be interesting to see what they would come up with. Packaging would probably be similar to the 6378 Talking Flying Matt Mason with Matt on Cat Trac Card displayed in a window. We will probably never know!
