| Mattel 1969 Quick Reference Toy Guide |

I've talked about the rarity of these Reference catalogs in a previous description (for the 68 Quick Ref catalog)... given to toy distributors and sales people to aid them with product information. Each item includes "Things to say and do:" to entice store owners to buy!
This 69 catalog is very exciting, in that it has the Sears Exclusive insert in the middle, printed on blue paper. Alas, there are no MMM Sears Exclusives for 69 that had not already been marketed. When I bought this, I had hoped that some mention of the MLP and Astro Trac Missile Convoy set would be mentioned. Most of the exclusives in this catalog are for Hot Wheels, Make and Play Sets, and Barbie sets and outfits.
This happens to be one of my favorite catalogs for another reason... the Back Cover. It features some nice photos of store merchandizing mock-ups, with the Capt Lazer stand-up and a guy in a goofy "spacy" outfit, demonstrating play potential (or something!).
